Engaging younger generations, such as Generation Z, is crucial for the sustainability of the heritage sector. Without their involvement, (World) Heritage sites risk losing their value and relevance in the eyes of future generations. International Heritage Experience Management students from NHL Stenden are exploring how active participation, co-creation, and visits by Generation Z to World Heritage sites in the Kingdom of the Netherlands can be encouraged.
The findings will be presented on the afternoon of Thursday, 27 March, during a World Heritage Café at NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden. Throughout the event, we will delve explore the theme of Gen Z and World Heritage through a presentation and a panel discussion. Based on the students' presentations and the panel discussion, we will engage in further conversation. NHL Stenden and the Dutch World Heritage Foundation invite students, (World) Heritage professionals, and other interested parties to attend.
